Female and male bust-length figures, the female figure with an elaborately decorated dress, the male figure in armor with simulated damascened decoration. Each torso centered by a circular recess for the relict (now missing), on rectangular plinths.
Provenance:
The busts were apparently commissioned by the Dean of Palencia Cathedral, Rodrigo Enriquez, in the first quarter of the 16th century for the chapel of San Marcos in Cuenca. According to 17th century family documents they were placed beside the altar but were later moved back to the family’s domain where they have remained.
