A splendid extraordinary Coffer or Blanket Chest of Monumental size, superb Quality and state of preservation. In two parts, the chest set into a conforming base, of rectangular form. The front of the case is decorated with gothic tracery carving, the sides feature ornamental quatrefoil designs embellished with carved leafage, the base is carved with scrolling foliate decoration. The massive dovetailed construction is reinforced with wrought iron strapwork. The chest retains its original ornate lock and a key.
