French Louis XIV Marquetry and Pietre Dure Cabinet on Stand, ca. 1660, Manner of Pierre Gole (1620-1685) or Workshop

The exterior of the top part decorated with very fine marquetry of ebony and various exotic woods, the two doors opening to an interior fitted with various drawers featuring pietre dure and pietre paesina fronts. The base with conforming marquetry on the sides and the base of the five columnar legs, the two drawer-fronts adorned with pietre dure animals, the platform base inlaid with fine geometric lines, standing on five bun feet, gilt bronze accents.
