Italian Renaissance Inlaid Walnut Scabbello Chair

A Companion (of slightly smaller size) to “the World’s most famous Chair” according to The MET Museum, also called the Strozzi Chair and referred to by Hans Stegman as “unicum known the world over. . . a masterwork of charming beauty, one of the most beautiful Florentine pieces of furniture around.”, possibly late 15th century, walnut with fruitwood and ebony inlay, the slender back ending in a rondel at the top, bearing the Strozzi family blazon, the thick octagonal seat supported by three canted legs. (The chair has been left in unrestored condition)
