Pair of Sicilian Octagonal Baroque Mecca Silver Gilt mirrors, Last Half of the 17th Century
The mirrors feature vividly carved triple stepped concave and mirror-inset frames surrounding an octagonal center mirror plate. The apparently original silver-gilding (Mecca) mostly worn down and the underlaying bole now showing, which gives the mirrors a bold but less flashy appearance.
